"Out of Stock" messages during check-out mean that the pipe has already sold, but I have not yet updated the catalog page to reflect its "Sold" status.

Our third pipe in March's Ligne Bretagne shape is a nice, strongly contrasted example with a fumed bowl rim fading down into a lower bowl that's been stained with a gentle gold/amber tint that's just there enough to give the highlighted outer edges of the texture some contrast. An interesting side effect is that the amber tint (a custom color mixed for these shapes) also lets the grain of the briar show through the carved surface texture - See those side-to-side shadows on the shank? That's the crosscut grain of the briar block showing through.

I included a "down the shank" pic in the set above to help convey the oval width of the shank, which isn't always obvious. In side photos you get the skinniest view, which makes it look thin whereas in three dimensions it's wider and much better visually balanced to the overall proportions of the design. I think it's a beautiful and very elegant shape, but it's a little more challenging than usual to get good angle photos of.
