Name: The Bull-Horn

Grade/Finish:  Grade 3 Sandblast

Price:  390 €
                Est. $608 USD
466 € TTC including VAT for EU buyers

Notes:  Done as a model/sample for a group pipe, this is pretty much my own personal ideal of a smoking tool, combining everything I like (good size, thick walls, rugged construction & character) with the elegant, slinky S curve that I enjoy slipping into all my bent pipes, taking great care to keep the shank & stem lines as one smooth flowing curve without any obvious breaks or transitions where shank becomes stem.  This is actually a poor pipe to serve as a group pipe model, however, because they certainly won't all have grain like this!

Positives:   Exceedingly practical AND elegant in shape.  The sandblast is the eye-popper here, though - VERY deep, very contrasted, and very gnarly, especially when viewed from the front bottom of the bowl, where the ring stacking is most obvious.  I was really conflicted as to whether to make this a grade 3 or a grade 4, and IMO I probably should have made it a 4 - I'm going to kick myself if someone buys this and immediately ebays it for more than I charged!   The stem is handcut from German cumberland rod, with an effortless draw - I've been working my airhole slots deeper and deeper and wider and wider, and I expect this to be a quality smoking machine.  BTW, the "wide cone" description down below under "bowl size" refers to the chamber - it isn't a straight-walled chamber with a rounded bottom, but isn't a cone either.  Instead, it's closer to a very fat torpedo, to avoid the moisture problems that can sometimes occur with conical bowls as they're smoked lower down.

Negatives:  Nada.  It's as good as I can make a pipe.
