Notes:  Continuing on with "sketching" for a possible group pipe, here is a really nice ring grain "HawkPrince".  I liked the drooping shank look of the last two LB Collectors, but unfortunately the extra-long shank is hard to get out of typical plateau blocks for a large volume run of one shape, so this one has a more traditional shank length.  The shape also has the excellent advantage of being ideally suited to cut from the upper, older portion of any plateau block.  Passes a cleaner, despite the shank bend, and offers a nice-sized bowl and extra-light weight.  This particular pipe is probably not a very good "example pipe", because, wow, they won't all have grain like this!  This just came out excellent - perfectly centered and stacked, with lots of surface detail set off by the two-tone staining.
