Notes:
This pipe was made as a model for a potential pipe club pipe - drawings
are easy, but ultimately I think better in 3D and it's easier to convey
a visual idea closer to the end result with an actual pipe to look at.
The pipe has a handcut horn stem from St. Claude, and a REALLY
fun sandblast grain pattern (see my recent
blog post on the subject
for more on reading sandblast grain). One side shows very thin,
very warbled ring grain, while the other shows distinct rings
interspersed with warty bird's-eye bits from the angle. The
effect on the long shank looks marvelous. And the bowl tilt is
just enough so that the smoker can still easily see the bowl rim from
the top for easy lighting.
This is the first LB Collector I've had available for quite some time!
